Dory House

The Dory House is awesome. Great 2 bed, 2 bath home, with a large, well-stocked kitchen/dining area and plenty of living space as well.

The owner runs a dory fishing guide service (fantastic guide, if you're interested - no dogs allowed on the boat though), and the boat lives at this rental. If he's working, he'll be there early to grab the boat, and back in the afternoon to clean the day's catch.

You have the entire upper level to yourself, and the kitchen has everything you need. We even found butter for the crab the guys caught in the fridge. Bonus.

PROS

Wraparound deck allows you to see both the sunrise and sunset. You're also near the airstrip, so you might catch a plane landing too!

Private dock If you're interested in paddleboarding/canoeing, you can get to the river from here during high tide.

Large living space for a 2 bedroom home, and well-stocked kitchen, including coffee

Watch the owner work It's neat to watch the owner and his deckhand take care of the day's catch when they return.

Good yard space There's a firepit and a picnic table out back, and both sides of the deck have chairs as well.

WATCH OUT

Not for light sleepers We were up since the guys were all heading out on the dory with the owner, but you can definitely hear the garage door open and the tow rig starting very early in the morning No ground level access If you can't do stairs, there's no way to get into the home!
