Warm Springs State Recreation Site/Boat Ramp

June 14, 2020 & July 3, 2022

We've been here a couple of times on our trips back and forth from Central Oregon. There's a vault toilet here, and two little boat launches on the Deschutes.

It's just a quick pit stop for a potty break, and if you don't mind wet dogs in the car, they can swim if it's not too crowded.

PROS

Access park right next to the water

Quick easy access on and off of Hwy 26. Sometimes the left turn going North out of there can be rough with traffic coming.

WATCH OUT

Quick Current If your dog can't stay close to shore, this is not a good spot for them to swim

Active River The river is always subject to current conditions. I'm not sure this is a great spot in the winter when the river flows harder.

Busy There are a lot of people in and out of here, so it can be difficult to let the dogs off leash to get into the water.

Not a Destination This is truly a roadside stop, not a destination.
